Drones fly in formation behind your ship and carry their own gear: lasers and shields only. Every drone has its own loadout, so three Axens are three separate slots.

Limits

• Bought drones (Axen and Helix combined): at most 8. Each further unit of the same drone costs more.
• Omega-X and Phantom-Z are crafted from fragments and exotic matter from the Scrap-yard (amounts are on the drone card), and you can own one of each. Fragments drop from monsters, gates and special chests. A full fragment bar collects no more fragments of that kind until you craft the drone.
• A bought drone can be sold back for part of its price. Omega-X and Phantom-Z cannot be sold or traded.

Wear

Drones wear down in combat. After a warning there is time to repair them in the hangar (Repair all button). Axen is repaired for Q-Credits, the other drones for Quantium. When wear hits the limit, the drone falls apart. With VIP a drone never breaks and repairs itself for free on a base (or while you are offline).
